Marian Rivera is set to return to primetime television this year. Her management approved projects that fit into her schedule. The actress credited time management for allowing her to balance her commitments. “One project is short. They needed my time to finish it. The other project made adjustments,” she shared. “That’s why I’m excited.”
After winning Best Actress and the Excellence Performance Award for “Balota” by Kip Oebanda, and starring in Mae Cruz Alviar’s “Rewind,” the highest-grossing Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 entry, Marian plans to take on another film this year.
Marian, along with her manager Michael Tuviera, CFO Jojo Oconer, and Head of Operations Jacqui Clara, is reviewing multiple scripts. Tuviera shared that she has received about 10 scripts but has yet to select her next project.
Tuviera praised Marian’s approach to choosing roles. “She doesn’t pick projects for box office success or awards. It is always what speaks to her heart and what she’s passionate about. Awards and ticket sales are just bonuses.”
Marian acknowledged her demanding schedule. “I was already busy before, but now it feels like double. Opportunities are lined up, and I look forward to them.”
On December 30, during their 10th wedding anniversary, Dingdong Dantes proposed again in front of their children. Marian was overwhelmed with emotions. “I won’t share all the details, but I cried when Dingdong did that in front of our kids.”
She reflected on the significance of their marriage. “For us, marriage means lasting love, including our children. We want them to understand love and our commitment.”
The children were excited about the moment. “Their reaction mattered to me the most. In their eyes and in front of my husband, I saw the life I always dreamed of.”
When asked about renewing their vows every 10 years, Marian emphasized gratitude. “We always want to thank God. That’s what we hold on to as a family.”
Marian Rivera on Faith, Family, and Priorities
Marian also plans to visit her father in Spain, bringing their son Sixto along. Their last visit in 2017 included Zia but not Sixto. Therefore, this upcoming trip will be extra special.
She shared how faith has strengthened their bond. “We do Bible study every night. Even if I’m exhausted, we read at least one verse and discuss its meaning.”
Marian stressed the importance of teaching her children about faith. “Without the Lord, we wouldn’t be here. That’s what I want my kids to understand.”
She credits her grandmother for shaping her values. “I grew up in a broken family, but my grandmother taught me the true meaning of family. I want to pass that on.”
Despite her busy schedule, motherhood remains her top priority. “Every night, I talk to my kids about their day. I can’t let a day pass without checking in on them.”
She never postpones family time. “If there’s a school event, I can’t be absent. My kids come first.”
Marian recently renewed her contract as a brand ambassador for Ecran de Luxe, a sunscreen product by Luxe Beauty and Wellness. CEO Anna Magkawas praised Marian’s genuine support. “Marian posts about Ecran without being asked. That means a lot.”
Magkawas explained the product’s benefits. “Ecran protects skin from UVA and UVB rays and blue light from gadgets. Even indoors, sunscreen is essential. It prevents premature aging.”
Marian continues to balance acting, endorsements, and family life. With upcoming projects and personal milestones, she embraces a fulfilling year ahead.
