Daniel Padilla is redefining his TV career with the action-packed series Incognito, breaking away from the romantic roles that have shaped his public image. The decision to join Incognito came after director Lester Pimentel Ong and co-stars Ian Veneracion and Richard Gutierrez encouraged him to take on the role. “When I heard about the story, I got interested right away. It’s about a private military contractor, and that felt like something different,” Daniel revealed.
According to the director, the series is a gripping tale of redemption. It follows seven individuals navigating personal struggles while seeking second chances. The ensemble cast includes Ian Veneracion, Richard Gutierrez, Baron Geisler, Kaila Estrada, Anthony Jennings, and Maris Racal. Together, they bring a fresh perspective to action dramas, promising a thrilling viewing experience.
Intense Preparation for a Demanding Role
To prepare for the physically intense role, Daniel undertook rigorous training in golf, muay thai, and basketball. “This project demanded a lot physically. Starting your day with an adrenaline rush and ending it fulfilled after completing tough stunts—it’s a new but exciting experience for me,” Daniel shared.
With Incognito, Daniel aims to carve out his niche in the action genre, distinct from the legacies of his father, Rommel Padilla, and uncle, Robin Padilla. “They have their strengths in action. Let’s see what I can bring to the table,” he remarked.
