Filipino Photographer Mark Nicdao’s Work Added to Getty Museum

Filipino photographer Mark Nicdao has achieved a major milestone. Five of his photos are now part of the famous Getty Museum in Los Angeles. His work features well-known Filipinas, including actresses KC Concepcion and Iza Calzado, model Jo Ann Bitagcol, actress-host Nancy Castiglione, and gender equality advocate Queen Melo Esguerra.

The Getty Museum is widely known for its collection of European paintings, sculptures, and global photography. Having a Filipino photographer’s work included brings Filipino talent to the global art scene.

KC Concepcion, one of Nicdao’s muses, shared her joy on Instagram. She talked about a photo taken in 2008, where she wore a Puey Quiñones outfit. In her post, she praised Nicdao’s hard work and creative vision.

“Mark has raw talent, vision, and the mind of a genius,” KC wrote. She also said it was inspiring to see his work celebrated internationally.

Nicdao shared the good news through an Instagram post. He thanked his team, his muses, and the Getty Museum for this opportunity. “Thank you, Getty Museum! Celebration coming soon,” he wrote.

He called the moment a celebration of creativity and teamwork. Nicdao expressed how meaningful it was to see his work recognized at this level.

Iza Calzado and Queen Melo Esguerra Praise Nicdao

Iza Calzado congratulated Nicdao and thanked him for uplifting Filipino talent. She wrote, “Salamat, Mark! Praise God for your talent and brilliance! Mabuhay ka!”

Queen Melo Esguerra also praised Nicdao, calling his achievement a win for Filipino creativity.
