Kapamilya actress Lovi Poe has shared her thoughts and experiences regarding the devastating wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles, California. Known for her role in Flower of Evil, Lovi took to Instagram to express her emotions and give her followers a glimpse of the challenges residents are facing.
This week, several areas in Los Angeles were engulfed in flames, forcing hundreds of thousands of residents to evacuate their homes. The Palisades Fire, as reported by the Associated Press, has proven more destructive than the Sayre Fire of 2008. Many homes and establishments have been reduced to ashes, leaving communities in distress.
Lovi shared videos of smoke-filled skies and helicopters tirelessly working to contain the inferno. She described the heartbreaking scenes in her post:
“The fires have hit LA hard, and it’s tough seeing so much loss. I’ve been watching the sky and hearing helicopters flying back and forth… In times of devastation, like the one we’re witnessing, it’s hard to find the right words.”
Heartfelt Words from the Kapamilya Star
Although her home remains unaffected, Lovi expressed empathy for the victims. She commended the strength of the Los Angeles community during this tragedy.
“Though the road ahead is tough, the community is coming together—helping, supporting, and showing up for one another. It’s a reminder that even in the hardest times, we’re never alone,” she said.
The wildfires have also displaced around 150 Filipinos, according to DFA Assistant Secretary Adelio Angelito Cruz. These individuals are currently housed in evacuation centers after being forced to leave their homes.
“We have about 150 displaced Filipinos. They had to undergo mandatory evacuation and are now staying in temporary shelters,” Cruz shared during an interview on ANC’s Headstart.
The Philippine government is working to provide assistance, including helping affected Filipinos secure long-term housing solutions.
Fans and friends of Lovi Poe have expressed relief upon learning she is safe. Many netizens also vowed to pray for all those affected by the calamity.
