Award-winning Filipino actor Piolo Pascual, renowned for his timeless charm and acting prowess, recently shared personal insights during an interview on Toni Gonzaga’s “Toni Talks.” At 48, the actor revealed that he has been single for 13 years. Despite societal expectations, Piolo expressed that he feels content with his life, emphasizing his focus on personal growth and career.
Embracing Singlehood with Purpose
When asked about his relationship status, Piolo candidly replied, “Wala naman eh. May love life ba ako?” (“Nothing. Do I have a love life?”). He added, “The more you stay single, the more you enjoy it, and the more you don’t look for it. My love life is my career.”
Piolo highlighted his happiness in being single, explaining, “I don’t see the point of being with someone, especially since I’m busy with work.” Surrounded by family and friends, the actor has adapted to this lifestyle.
In the interview, Toni Gonzaga mentioned a past conversation with comedian Vic Sotto, who spoke about the challenges of aging without a companion. Reflecting on this, Piolo admitted, “I suddenly got sad.” Despite this, he remains focused on his passions and professional journey.
Piolo also shared his approach to endorsements and acting projects. “I have to believe in what I do,” he stated. He values opportunities that contribute to his growth as an artist and individual.
His secret to staying relevant in showbiz lies in commitment and adaptability. “Always look for challenges that push you out of your comfort zone,” Piolo advised.
Last year, Piolo won his second FAMAS Best Actor Award for his role in the horror-drama film “Mallari,” based on a true story. Known for his humility, Piolo’s acceptance speech reflected his gratitude for his colleagues and the award-giving body.
