TJ Monterde created a wave of romance at the Araneta Coliseum, turning his three-night, sold-out “Sarili Nating Mundo” concert into a celebration of love, music, and heartfelt moments. Fans witnessed wedding proposals, emotional tributes, and a powerful showcase of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), proving why TJ remains one of the country’s most beloved singer-songwriters.
From VIP sections to the bleachers, love filled the air as multiple wedding proposals unfolded. During his duet with wife KZ Tandingan, TJ jokingly suggested bringing out a pastor for a mass wedding. According to concert producer Cornerstone, at least 10 proposals happened across the three-day event—including one involving TJ’s band member.
KZ, known for her powerful vocals and artistry, took a heartfelt moment to honor her husband “Aside from being a great artist, singer, songwriter, head of his own label, husband, dada to our dogs… TJ is my inspiration.”
She recalled his struggles before achieving mainstream success, emphasizing how he persevered.
“And now, he’s one of the most-streamed artists in the Philippines… the first male solo act to sell out Araneta for three nights straight.”
The Song That Defined 2024 OPM
At the core of the concert’s success was “Palagi”, a song TJ wrote as a gift for KZ on the 10th anniversary of their first meeting. It became the biggest OPM hit of 2024, topping Billboard Philippines and surpassing one billion streams on Spotify.
The concert featured an impressive setlist of 20 songs, including “Puhon,” “Dating Tayo,” “Ikaw at Ako,” and the debut of his new single “Silver,” performed with South Korean artist 10CM. Special guests included Arthur Nery and Martin Nievera, with director John Prats ensuring a visually stunning experience.
TJ planned to reward himself with a luxury watch after his milestone concert. However, KZ surprised him before the final show with the exact watch he had been eyeing.
“I was so touched because she bought it for me before even getting one for herself.”
After an unforgettable three-night success, TJ hinted at taking “Sarili Nating Mundo” on tour, bringing his music to more fans. Looking back at his journey—from performing for just 13 people at a fan event to selling out Araneta—he reflected on his growth and gratitude:
“I told myself, ‘Bro, you did it!’ We gave it our best. Thank you, Lord, for this opportunity.”
TJ Monterde’s concert wasn’t just about music. It was a testament to love, perseverance, and dreams coming true—one heartfelt song at a time.
